  • Dear Ridgecrest Families:

Welcome to the 2017-18 school year!  We have had a fantastic start to the new year and look forward to all this year has in store!

As you know, the safety of our students is a top concern.  In order to ensure the safety of our students and staff, we are implementing the following procedures and safeguards.

    • We are implementing a new doorbell procedure at Ridgecrest and throughout the Puyallup School District.  All doors will remain locked during the school day.  If you are visiting campus, we ask that you ring the doorbell on the right of the main doors. You will be asked to state the reason for your visit and show your I.D.  Office staff will then open the doors so that you are able to enter the building.

    • As a reminder, students cannot be dropped off on the playground any earlier than 8:40 am.  We do not have supervision on the playground until 8:40 and students cannot be left unsupervised.

    • Also, we are closing the playground after school between 3:15 and 3:30 pm.  It is important that we can account for all students and it is very difficult for us to know which students are being supervised by their parents and which ones are not when they are on the big toys and play fields.  If you are picking up your child, please be sure your child remains with you at all times until you leave.

    • Finally, we ask that parents refrain from entering the building and going to classrooms in the morning.  Parents are welcome to walk their students to the playground.  When you do come into the building, please enter through the front doors only, use the doorbell, and sign in with the main office.

Again, we welcome all our parents, families, and visitors here to Ridgecrest.  These safeguards will help us ensure student's safety while they are here at school.  Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.  If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to email me back or call the office to schedule an appointment with me.

      All my best,

      Michelle Fox, Ridgecrest Principal
